“Does your practice receive regular requests for a chaperone in attendance?”

COURSE DETAILS

Chaperone Training for Non-Clinicians

There are many reasons why patients attending GP appointments might need or require a chaperone. Vulnerable children or adults, patients with religious or cultural boundaries or patients who have had a prior bad experience and lack the confidence to attend for an examination alone can all benefit from the presence of a caring and professional chaperone

This fully interactive workshop, led by an experienced senior GP, featuring live demonstrations of examination techniques with the opportunity to practice them in the classroom, will give you the skills and confidence you need to be an effective and safe clinical chaperone in your practice.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Understand what is and isn't appropriate during a physical examination
  • Learn observation skills and safeguarding practices
  • Understand just what is expected of you in this role
  • Be confident when raising concerns, reporting incidents and understanding the right way to proceed

This half day workshop will give you the skills and confidence to start your role as a clinical chaperone in your practice right away.
